RE:RE:RE:The island is small..Barrick is big..

None of what you just said makes any sense to me. Why would they want to get other companies permits just to raise the value of those assets if their intention is to purchase them.

having said that:

1) A company as large as Barrick won't try to persuade the government to suppress issuing a permit out of an abundance of reasons that need not be mentioned.

2) if the country were to continue denying a permit it is going to really (and it already has) harm the reputation of the country and hinder investment.

3) GQC should get a permit because ultimately it makes sense for all stakeholders

mackvorkian wrote: Hey Mad. I have been thinking along the same lines. Due to the crash in tourism, the financial benefit to the DR from Barrick is absolutely huge. Without Barrick's Pueblo Vierjo, the DR would be in much much worse shape than the nightmare its in right now.

We all know the connection between Barrick and PRG's adjacent claim. If and when Jeff hits the good stuff, Barrick is going too want that claim. And they will pay up for it.

Then PRG can go back and work its claim that is adjacent to GQC's Romero deposit. And this PRG claim won't be going anywhere fast without the assurance of a permit. GQC's permit and PRG are intertined.

And do we doubt that Barrick, in order to get that juicy PRG adjacent claim, won't  backstop PRG? Hardly! The Bottom Line is that Barrick will use its pull to enable QGC  to get that permit in order to help PRG.

But, all of this intrigue is totally unnecessary as the new Prez is a expert in business and economics and is savvy to the fact that the DR badly needs the jobs and the hard cash.

PRG and GQC have a great relationship and they help each other.

The best is yet to come.
