Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

What I learned

What I learnedCannabis sector has a promising future but unfortunately, unless you're in at a low price or willing to not look at it for the next 5 years, cannabis space is not good for investors. Last year after delivering an amazing Q4 we topped at 10.05. Look at the share price today, 1 year later, even though the company is now better on paper 1 year later, the shares are down 34%. Therefore, I learned that I should take some profits on the way up, for example sell 20% of my shares and buy back on horrible days like today. This will allow me to protect my profits and stay invested while reducing my average price per share. It's really sad but this is the reality. Hopefully I can help people notice was I have been noticing so that they can start building a profit/protection system. The volatility in the sector is here to stay. I hope that this week will end quickly.
