SQM
SQM From SQM second quarter earnings : https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/sqm-reports-earnings-for-the-second-quarter-of-2020-301115349.html Actively searching for attractive minerals allowing us diversification opportunities to replicate and expand our existing mining capacities;
I know, it's not my first timewith that but , here:
1 - They already started with LAC 4 years ago , I mean they got to know Waldo and the team, and they were looking in Argentina for 'diversification'.
2- They sold their shares in Cauchari after signing the deal with the chileans. Since then, Sh!t hit the fan and i would not like having my revenue from only one production site, especially with all the drama of the past couple years . So why would they invest even more there ?
3- 3Q and SQM are relatively close ( 500 kms ) to each other , and I like the term replicate , they could use their overexperienced team to set the table in argentina for almost nothing ( like for a sandwich and a 2 hours helicopter flight over the Andes ;).
4- I know, but what about the asians in the deal, Tianqi own 25% of the Sociedad and it could be a good way for them to grow in Argentina with the big cheque they already sent in Chili , they can't put money on the table anymore, but I bet they know this market is only at dawn and will do everything they can to keep up with Ganfeng . So why not use a part of the 2B warchest sitting in south America to improve their future by leveraging their own money ( Asian style ) and acquired knowledge ( Chilean Style ) ?
5- I'm gonna stretch it a little further, but isn't it a good coincidence that SQM get out of LAC one month after the 43-101 and the 227% increase of NLC . Why would they? One thing comes to my mind if I compare the two projects . Neither LAC or SQM can boast about an entire solar and guess what!?! That's priceless for a company who's having big troubles with their neighbor, biggest competitor and their suspicious landlord!
Okay, enough speculation , I'll go wait for my thousands of SQM shares ... ( ohh another subject )
