I've been in Australia and have seen more than once a bushfire. 
One time a was passing by while everything around us was black or burning. 
The sun was hardly to see with a strange color in the air.
 
Your assumption are 100% wrong since in that area we are talking about there aren't all the necessary pieces that are needed so it could fall together to a very concerning situation.
