RE:RE:BitcoinBraindeadoldguy,
Chiz, I am old school. If I can't touch it, feel it, own it, then it's not real. Yes, I hear that bitcoin and gold are on the same path to create financial freedom for ourselves, but I have also heard that bitcoin is easy to buy, but hard to sell. Maybe that has changed, I don't know. I do not really understand how the structure and concept are supposed to work.
I can't understand how a digit in a computer can make you rich. It can make you poor though.
I am not going to risk what I have to find out. Now having said that, most everything is some
form of digit in a computer these days, like this stock, for example, or anybody's mortgage. Imagine that. You pay interest for a number created out of thin air called a mortgage, entered into your online bank account.
I'm like you, but consider this for a moment,
The founder of Stockhouse.com, Jeff Berwick, sold this website around 2012 and started up a new platform called The Dollar Vigilante.
https://dollarvigilante.com/ Jeff Berwick was recommending Bitcoin at $3.00. Yes, 3 Dollars. I looked into it, but could not understand the concept, and did not invest anything into it. Could have purchased 10 Bitcoin one morning, was looking at how to set up a wallet following the instructions of another crypto currency advocate I follow named Bix Weir, ... but just didn't do it ... I think Bitcoin was about $5 that morning ..
We have all watched it sky rocket since then. To make matters even more irritable for me, my bullion dealer in Ottawa started accepting Bitcoin as payment for bullion purchases a couple of years ago.
Oh well, C'est la vie. I still pay cash for my silver and gold maples.
This is the bullion dealer I use in Ottawa :
