RE:Is a Takeover a Foregone Conclusion?
RE:Is a Takeover a Foregone Conclusion? It is my expectation that Paul will grow this company to a size where the petro-chemical plastics company cannot afford to have GDNP eat their lunch anymore. Although I would probably prefer a straight up cash transaction somewhere north of $2.50 / share I think it's reasonable to assume that some sort of take out of GDNP might very well include an interest in the entity that buys them (as well as cash).
Obviously there are lots of ways that M&A can get done so it really is anyone's guess.
I do think it's pretty clear based on the communications from Paul that his goal is to maximize shareholder value and then seek an acquirer of GDNP. (or, as you suggest receive an offer that can't be refused).

It seems like there is much talk, even from Paul himself anticipating in due time that a company will take GDNP over. Is it not a possibility, or desireable that we just continue to grow and acquire in a space where we don't have any competition, and build an economic moat, grow the business to best in breed and spurn all takeover offers? I am just curious why it seems like the prospect of a takeover seems almost like a foregone conclusion. Are we not able to get big fast enough? Or will there always be an offer tendered that we won't be able to refuse?
