RE:RE:RE:Sweden....Poor Bunge!
Once again, you failed to make basic distinctions between:
- the justified decision of a total shutdown back in February/March/April when a pandemic was something that nobody had ever experienced in their entire life and so, had absolutely no way to understand what was going on (and where authorities didn't know much about it), that we had no PPE in enough quantities, no drug, no vaccine, no complete knowedge of this virus and so it would have hit the whole economy much more harder than what we've experienced, with any chance of getting back up. Remember how Trump and his bagholder were downplaying this virus and you, with promoting your Kool-Aid that never passed the test of a rigorous clinical trial and that didn't even protect Trump and Gugliani, to name a few.
and
- now, where we have enough PPEs, some drugs/treatments and other coming up, a much better understanding of this virus and now, some vaccines soon to be delivered over the next 6 months, and the fact that we also now have 85% of the population that is taking this serioulsy and now understand the impact and consequences of this virus. Nobody is shutting down their economies for 3 months anymore because all the above. But they do take decisions based on local numbers, events that are coming up (Holidays) based on facts and stress on the hospital systems (ICUs).
Sadly, even today, there are some that still oppose wearing of a mask (remember Trump feeling undestructive ... lolll), behave irresponsively, believed this hoax was made to beat Trump on Nov. 4 (nope, he did it without any help). But still, the virus is spreading much more faster, despite 10 months of "experience" and data everyday!
Every long holiday week-ends so far (so a mere 1 additional day to a normal week-end) has sparked more cases, followed 2 weeks later by higher death rates. Numbers are popping up everywhere to confirm. And ICUs are close to 90% in many places, 95% meaning that doctors have to make tough choices between patients. Like you or your wife. And Holidays are coming up!
Only you can superficialy think that governments don't know what they're doing when they decide to add restrictions. They're simply trying to balance between not impacting the economy too hard, while trying to flatten the curve with the economy in mind. Wanna invest in restaurants? One thing's for sure, some libertarian government are more incline to take less precautions than more.
Your once again showed poor timing by citing Florida as a "well managed" one, when looking at this data dated of today:
DeSantis has prevented local governments from penalizing anyone who shuns a mask, although many businesses still require them.
