Deep Drill Results Confirm Gold Extension below Pits Carrying on from my previous post re Murchison priority growth project, Monument carried out drilling below 150 m to 250 m in 2018 and 2020.
These are respectively described in the links below..
In 2018, drilling was beneath NOA 7/8 pit of Burnakura.
This zone already has 114,000 ounces of shallow gold above an average of 4 gms per ton which is very rich for open pit mining.
Core results showed that such grades continued downdip and open at strike to at least 250 m which offers great promise that this section of Burnie has the potential to be a superb low cost producer
( WGX grades average 2.5 gms per ton ).
In 2020, underground extension of gold mineralization were found below 3 of those Gabbie pits.
Taken together and noting the limited drilling to only a depth of 250 m, there is an excellent chance that economic grades of gold can be mined from shallow pits and underground to at least 250 m.
With 550,000 ounces already defined in less than 150 m, these sentinel underground drill results show that at Murchison, underground gold resources could be several times that currently defined for open pit mining .
Hence the priority being given management to accelerate Murchison development.
