RE:Financial Report was GOOD news

RE:Financial Report was GOOD news

Great post and I agree with you that the media is always on the negative side ... So many citizens  are angry at the bomber for the past moneys that the govts "gave" to the bomber but no one realizes all the jobs / taxes that the govts have collected and will continue to do so for many years to come...No one mentions how much CDPQ has made with the bomber .... It sure is hard to comprehend the positive impact the bomber has on Canada and probably will never be tabulated .

I know an engineer who got his start  at bombardier right out of school and was going to quit when he was approached by a manger at the bomber , he told the employee to re-focus his career and guided him back on track . This employee ended up working there on the Cseries and is now elsewhere. That employee told me that he owes his career to the bomber ... This is the same guy who told me not to worry about the bomber going belly up back when the share price was $0.26 , his pension is relying on the bomber making a comeback ... The average person does not know how hard it has been for the bomber  to compete worldwide ... maybe one day they will appreciate it but it will only happen once the bomber has moved on ...My investment in the bomber has a different feel to it now that we are left with only business jets but the bomber will come through ... Bombardier will stop making new Learjets as it's a crowded space where Bombardier is not making money. But they will continue to provide profitable servicing to existing aircraft long into the future as well as launch a new (profitable) Learjet RACER remanufacturing program.

The global workforce will be reduced by year end by 1600 to 13,000 (media prefers words like slash) while they "continue to navigate through the pandemic". Half of those layoffs are NOT EVEN IN CANADA (700 in Quebec/ 100 in Ontario), so the real number for Canada is only 800. Canada just lost 213,000 jobs in January while our whole economy continues to be challenged by COVID-19. It's great to hear it was only 800 Canadien layoffs at Bombardier.

I consider the financial report quite GOOD NEWS and I'm more confident of Bombardier's future and hope the SP will rise as the company's efforts bare fruit.

Note that I'm just a little guy who's invested part of his RRSP in BBD-B.
