XTM/Square Peers?

XTM/Square Peers? I used to own Square, saw how many retailers were using it at flea markets. Sold way too early. Noticed on the XTM website that they call themselves a peer to Square. Sounds too good to be true.  Yet the info regarding the company pipeline looks compeling Tried to find out how Square Compared to XTM.  Have not done the research yet, but it looks to me like it might have been a private company that went public for around $12 in 2016.  Shows you how fast these things can move if you have the right product.  Square ended the day at $252.
Does anyone have the background information of how Square got started? Anyone here thing XTM (PAID) is worth a look..
