SLR...The SLR ratio is a rule imposed by central banks to prevent large banks from taking on too much investment risk. The Fed let banks off for the past year because of covid. That free pass ends in a couple of weeks. If the Fed does not extend it means banks cannot take on large deposits. If they do, those clients will be charged a fee of between 3 to 5%. Why this is important is that the net result will be money has to enter the broader money system and hence is inflationary.
