Background: CEO Stephen Wallace has an impressive record. Among other things, he developed a good part of the later Detour project (25%), which was later acquired by Kirkland. The logic then was the same as it is now on Bootleg. An old district with "mon and pop" mining was given a modern interpretation - i.e., converted to industrial mining. The principle was the same at Osisko's Malartic project (Proven and probable reserve of 6.34 M oz Au (180 million tonnes grading 1.10 g/t Au) Measured and indicated resources of 1.29 Moz Au (26 million tonnes grading 1.54 g/t Au). Searchlight wants to show on bootleg but also far beyond that, that the former deep mining can possibly also be interpreted as Open Pit. Then just with 1 g/t on average and not with 15 g/t... That is a big plan, which still requires some time and money. The alternative would be to dewater the existing shafts and continue working where the predecessors left off.
