RE:Bushfield’s FortuneDrhoho wrote: Clipper, great interview, as usual, with Bushfield's Fortune Mojapelo, about their VRFB battery positioning. My takeaway was his mentioning several times their V rental construct and their total V production currently only 1/4th of Largo and plans of increasing to only 1/3rd, assuming Largo stays at current level. Both companies, with vertical integration, are extremely well positioned for projected VRFB growth. Largo with 100% acquisition of Vionix and it's greater V production at Maracas appears to be in the better position of the two. I think the completion between the two will prove beneficial for both.
Hi doc.
Just to clarify.
Bushveld anticipated production in the range of 3,660 and 3,950 tonnes of vanadium for 2020,
2021 guidance is 3,660-3,950t (revised down from preCOVID guidance of 3,960-4,300t), contingent on no further significant COVID-related disruptions.
Largo report production in tonnes of V2O5 which is only 56% Vanadium by mass, and their costs are reported in dollars per lb.
BMN report production in actual MTV and their costs are reported in dollars per kg.
At first glance it would seem that Largo is producing 3 x more vanadium than Bushveld, but we have to compare apples to apples.
Largo report production in tonnes of V2O5 which is only 56% Vanadium by mass, and their costs are reported in dollars per lb.
BMN report production in actual MTV and their costs are reported in dollars per kg.
Using a rough production for Largo of (12,000mt x .56%) we get 6720mt. Therefore, Largo is producing approx. 50% more than Bushveld.
