Largo and Bushveld report their production differently.
Largo report production in tonnes of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5)
and
Bushveld report production in mtv (metric tonnes of vanadium) in the form of Nitrovan.
For the sake of simplicity let's round off the production numbers.
Largo V2O5 12,000 tonnes.
Bushveld 4,000 tonnes reported as MTV.
Obviously a 3-1 ratio but it does not compare apples to apples.
What is Nitrovan? Nitrovan is just one of different FeV products. Vanadium Pentoxide (V2O5) is the main raw material used in the making of all FeV products (including Nitrovan). The V2O5 content in Nitrovan is 78 - 82% (see table below).
For argument's sake let’s say that the Bushveld Nitrovan has the maxium 82% of V2O5 in it.
So 4,000 tonnes of Nitrovan annually = 3,280 tonnes of V2O5 annually ( = 4,000 x 82%) to compare apples to apples with Largo’s 12,000 tonnes of V2O5. An even bigger gap.
