RE:I am somewhat disappointed that LAB, Warlockkk..... why didn't LAB find visible gold in their first core... Here is the answer.... I am no geologist, but it comes down to the probability of a small core inside diameter of hitting something is very, very small. Look at it this way, if in a meter square there is one piece of visible gold, an NQ core has an inside diamater of 4.75 cm (from table below), the width of a metre is 100 cm, or 21 cores across the length of a meter, then 21 cores across the width of a meter, thus if the core was square (but we know it is round) there would be 441 cores required to sample the entire meter square (but since the core is round, it would be more than 441 cores). Thus the probability of drilling down from the surface and hitting that piece of gold is amazing low. To conclude, visible gold at the surface is a good indicator there is gold below. But also not to find visible gold below, doesn't mean the core inside does't have gold. And even without visible gold, fine grains often not visible to the naked eye could be there.... So I wouldn't worry about NFLD, this much money didn't go in if they didn't think something was there....
