I have thought of another way that I can dumb it down enough for him to have a chance of understanding the impact of EIP 1559 to miners....so I will give it a shot.
I will give you a simple scenario Beta Boy....and I will reference terms you may be able to grasp. So in the past when you did your drywalling jobs you had a couple of ways to pad your bills that you gave to your customers....first you billed them for your labour for installing the drywall...then you would bill them labour for applying the drywall mud and taping....you would bill them a premium of the drywall material and you would bill them a premium on the mudding/taping products.
Well then the authorities come out with new legislation (that means rules btw) that says you can no longer upsell and add a premium on any of the materials...you must provide to the customer at cost (so no added profits for you in other words)...
So in this new world has your revenue suddenly dropped to zero and you must shutter your company??
NO IT DOES NOT...because you are still making money on the labour charges.
Hope this simplified things a little bit for ya Beta Boy...
