RE:RE:RE:why would Glencore want to pay more for their own companies?Foxy, I have been sitting in on board meetings since the late 1980's and have sat on several board's myself. I've formerly been CFO at 4 mining co's with operating mines in Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, Africa and in Canada. So, I do have a fair bit of experience with boards.
They do have a fiduciary duty to act in the best intesest of all shareholders, and that includes the 2 that sit on the TV board from Glencore. You are correct however, in that sometimes it is difficult to tell where their alliance is. Glencore is TV's sole offtake partner if I recall, so I'm hoping that the terms the TV directors agreed to in the Glencore offttake agreements are not materially different than market terms being offered to other zinc con producers.
