Perhaps the best line of the article:

Even if the size of the deposit were true -- can ANYONE identify another mining operation that literally extracts molten material from UNDER a major waterway??!!?? Lets just agree that there is a bazillion tonnes of the stuff -- I suspect that pulling it out of the ground based on location and physical state would cost anywhere from $50k-$100k/tonne.
If you think our environmental process has been difficult - imagine getting permit for extracting molten material under a major waterway -- this is so absurd it is actually FUNNY.
Lets remember that Lithium actually does exist almost everywere around the world -- the real issue for miners is to find concentrations that make it economic to mine -- that is not easy to find...that is what we've got!
