Wow!Takes a long time to work through the constant postings by the Bickersons, both seeing who can pizs higher on the pole.
One post of interest was the poster who made reference to Constellation Brands. For those that don't know, they are the company that added a ton of legitimatecy to the marijuana and hemp business. They are a multi-unicorn money maker who shocked the whole industry with a $5 billion dollar outlay to position themselves with Canopy Growth to be withing a couple of million dollars to run the whole show and as said by the poster that I mentioned, they are hard-core entrepreneurs who know how to make money and run successful businesses. They are worth a marketcap of $46 billion and pay some serious dividends. They chose Canopy Growth and I am sure that they are taking the reigns of Canopy to bring their expertise to get us to profitability.
A lot of investors have ignored the US potential but not Canopy. Canopy has inked a deal with Acreage Holdings which is one of the leading US Multi State Operators taking care of business to put all the pieces together for Canopy/Constellation to take the reigns and assume leadership in the US. Investors that rushed in to be a part of the Acreage investors club got burned when the takeover deal was re-inked with Canopy to reflect the huge downtick that ALL marijuana and hemp companies experienced. I mentioned that because right now, I believe Acreage Holdings is cheap, considering what will happen when the US decriminalizes marijuana. It has already started with the Feds taking a hands-off position for States that want legal marijuana for rec and pharma use.
The deal is that Canopy will swallow up the fixed shares of Acreage currently worth $4.30 at the rate of 3 Acreage will get you one Canopy share worth $22.70. There seems to be a $9 premium in there for Acreage fixed shareholders subject to a triggering event.
The Acreage floating shares are currently worth $2.32 and Canopy has already stated that they will be assumed for $6 plus a share at their discretion or they will remain Acreage shares but run by Canopy/Constellation.
Constellation is about beverage alcohol and Canopy is committed to THC and CBD infused beverages. Constellation sees this as game changing and joined Canopy to be a part of where they think this is going, that is to say Constellation sees cannabinoid infused as a serious threat to their bottomline so they did what smart hardcore entrepreneurs do and they bought in.
Anybody that missed my point: Constellation/Canopy have chosen Acreage Holdings as Canopy USA division. Acreage is a multistate operator with most of the pieces that Canopy is going to need for rapid US expansion. Canopy has also committed to a 300 thousand square foot facility in New York which is being tweaked in anticipation of said triggering event.
These 3 companies are proactively positioning to remain the world leader. I was waiting out the downturn to rebuy Canopy but chose Acreage instead. American voters want some Federal legalization and there are politicians working on it, maybe as soon as this week. I am not quite sure what will be considered a triggering event but a lot of big money is waiting for the politicians to do their jobs and get it right. The US greenrush will make Canada's look small.
