RE:RE:major technical boo-boo on TH's new website

Oh, that's right. So that's something already, the rewrite rule is there, it's just incomplete. It's an even simpler fix then.

The www part is a subdomain. It historically defaults to www but can be anything like webmail or such, allowing to serve different web sites on a single hostname. It's optional and a lot of websites chose to only have a hostname for the sake of simplicity.

The main concern here is that just entering "theratech.com" in some browsers (e.g. Opera and Firefox Android), will be completed to https://theratech.com and thus fail to be served.

It does for the address with www. In front of it.  Have most address just dispensed with the www at this point?   Hopefully they see this and add that in to the redirect also.

I have sent an email to the company trying to raise the herein described major outstanding issue there is with the new website, but my message got ignored or somehow went unnoticed.
I'm writing this message in the hope of attracting the company's attention, or that someone here will help forward it to the person in charge.
The problem is simple yet very far reaching: the web server does not currently reply to http requests and only serves https requests (Secured http).
To explain it simply, it means that if you try to visit the website by entering the address https://theratech.com in a web browser's address bar, the page won't load at all. It will just time out after a while.
That is absolutely devastating. Not only will you lose instantly a portion of web traffic, but it reflects very poorly on the abilities of your IT department. To make an analogy, il is a bit like if a company would decide to not have a land line at all because hey, everyone uses mobile nowadays.
Also, it is a 5 minutes fix for any competent webmaster: just redirect all HTTP requests to HTTPS with a rewrite rule. Done. That's what pretty much every other website in the world is doing and I really mean that literally. You may check it yourself.
I've compiled below, just for the purpose of illustration, a list of a dozen biotech websites prefixed with https:// so you can check that every single one of them is properly redirecting to https:// to handle the request.

https://www.mereobiopharma.com
https://relmada.com
https://rigel.com
https://curis.com
https://www.paratekpharma.com
https://www.iterumtx.com
https://www.biocryst.com
https://arcturusrx.com
https://biontech.de
https://www.ultragenyx.com
https://trilliumtherapeutics.com
https://www.annovisbio.com
https://www.surfaceoncology.com

Hoping this (embarrassing) situation will be resolved very soon.
Greetings.
P.S: for context I've been a web engineer helping to develop the W3C standards like CSS3 and modern web rendering engines.
