RE:RE:RE:BeveragesYea, there's law and policy problems from our protectors and somebody mentioned quality and flavour aspects as well as effect problems with the first runs of infused beverages. All true from my experience.
Governments are making this a lot harder than it should be and very unfair to us as compared to Big Alcohol.
I also feel that Canopy's thc infused were rushed and need a lot more work to get the dosage right and a great flavour.
They were rippin' off shelves on novelty but consumers like myself, are looking for alternatives that bring that flavour and effect. Another thing I have noticed is identification of what you are getting by way of strains escapes me and is not clearly identified, it seems.
Don't forget that Canopy Growth was "legitimized" by Constellation Brands who plunked down $5 billion to be in the first string of participants from the unicorn crowd of Big Alcohol Giants, to hedge their anticipated marketshare loss that they expect as smarter and more health conscious consumers change to alternative offerings.
Low cal, no sugar, adult flavoured cocktail imitators with no hangover are gaining ground and will gain more when our protectors level the playing field with alcohol's guidelines and venues for consumption.
I think they will be great new options for bar, lounge and pub drinkers if they taste good and effects are predictable.
I tried a watermelon beverage offering from my gov. pot store and the flavour was good but little to no effect. We tried it again and I split it with my wife and we both got a good buzz so consistency is a problem imo.
Acreage Holdings is Canopy Growth's choice MSO for US expansion when the legal beagles say it is go time for the US greenrush launch. I can't believe the lack of attention the deal they have inked is getting. Canopy chose Acreage to be the US division of Canopy and it brings most of what Canopy is going to need. They paid hundreds of millions of dollars and to finish the deal, Canopy will replace the Acreage fixed shares with Canopy shares at about 1 Canopy share for 3 Acreage which at current prices is a very nice premium. It will dilute Canopy sharefloat a bit but Canopy is the world leader and when the US greenrush happens, those shares will hit new highs and be in short supply.
If you are feeling like getting your activist on, pen your concerns to your government reps until they have to deal with getting the work done.
