Its Battery Materials Plant projects is located in an industrial park and near a shipping port in Becancour, Quebec, approximately 150 km northeast of Montreal, on the Saint Lawrence River. The Company owns the 100% of the rights to the Lac Gueret property, which consists of 74 map-designated claims totaling 3,999.52 hectares.

#1; nouveau monde had a pre-deal with the previous leader of the First Nation in 2019 now they want more money and I don't blame them negotiating strategies...

nouveau monde gave a million of shares at the community and have atikamekw enterprises to built their infrastructures.

#3 social acceptability? They have the green light from the mayor and local residents. Most people against are cottage owners from Montral and seasonal residents who don't care about the local economy...

#4 environment concerns? They spend millions on environmental reports over 4 years and got the green light from the provincial government so ... what else do you need ? In addition they have millions frozen in a bank account to clean and for restoration after the mine will be depleted.
