CubaI think you'll find that across a population of approximately 12m you have a minority who are currently protesting in the streets and demanding regime change, another minority who are completely loyal to the "revolution" and the current system, and a much larger majority who while certainly wanting improved conditions and changes to the system don't want those changes to come about by toupling the current regime and structure. Furthermore, the Cuban security apparatus is highly sophisticated and expert at "handling" these situations (remember their role in rooting out any dissidents in the Venezualean army). I've always said that if Cuba was a northern hemisphere country the revolution would have failed a long time ago. Cold and hungry are a bad combination. My hope is that out of this crisis will come concessions all around and that things will get better for the Cuban people. Meanwhile SCN operations are uncompromised.
