In the 1960s, young leftists pushed the idea that the US was too rich and sucked up most of the world's raw materials needed by others for their economic growth.  They believed that the US needed to be brought down a couple of economic notches for the sake of world peace.  Many of the subscribers to that ideology (and their followers) are leading politicians here today.

With this in mind, does the Marxist turn in US internal and international affairs make more sense?

Well VP, the Marxist turn in the US is actually overblown.  The majority of the country is in no such frame of mind.

The Left fringe simply seized on an opportunity.  And they did it in a fraudulent manner.

There is a fatal error in their calculations though.

What they failed to understand (and always do) is not that Americans will tolerate corruption and grand larceny.  Because most of the population has tolerated such things forever anyway, and managed to get on with things.  It's inherently a rich nation.

Where the fatal flaw in thinking exists, is the overt attack on personal rights and freedoms to achieve their ambitions  That is the land mine they have placed their foot upon and must figure out an escape.  This is where the Left is doomed.  And it's going to get deadly for them this time around.

In my opinion, Biden and company will be gone by year's end.  And many federal institutions will fall apart directly after his expulsion.  The process of "Delegitimization" is currently underway, and accelerating.

The inevitable Seneca Cliff threshold has been crossed.  And the current state of The Left is a clear indication that the US Politica has pulled a "Thelma and Louise" on itself.  The US government probably needs to be accommodated in a Lincoln Continental in lieu of a 66 T-Bird, but the result will be the same either way.

It's actually a very positive development.

In the short term:  Very negative for standard of living.  Very positive for PMs and their miners.

In the longer term:  Absolutely essential.

Hang on to your hub caps.
