Muskrat Falls Federal Aide: What it means

Muskrat Falls Federal Aide: What it meansIt opens the door to receiving more power at decent rates to power electric torches to replace the bunker burners in the pellet plant. A rate negotiation can now proceed that will permit a financial plan to be approved. There is not enough power available to feed a full changeover at this time.
500Kms of transmission line will be needed from Muskrat Falls to Lab City. That will make power available to all interested in new projects and reducing GG production and So2 as well.
The company is under great pressure to cut sulphur emissions by 2026.
Using Labrador power in Labrador, and leaving HQ out of the mix, will be great news to the Newfoundlanders. Muskrat Falls is coming on line at this moment and needs buyers as the connection to the island and to Nova Scotia is not yet in place.
Expect news about pilot tests of 4 electric torches very soon as a result of this arrangement with the Fed Gov.
Electric torches will reduce enegy costs, and eliminate CO2 and SO2. Theses torches have already been tested in Sweden. Any and all pellet plants with access to the power required, lots, will be changing as soon as they can. RIO/IOC, and Val plus an unknown US producer will probably be the first.
