That makes zero sense to me given the sale price was pretty much the entire market cap of ECN. They will be a much smaller company now so maybe that's why some invenstors are spooked. Some investors (for example: my dad) will not invest in any company worth less than $1B US.

The stock isn't up $7.50 of course because they are selling 1 of their 3 divisions, so the remaining ECN business will be much smaller than previous, and will not be worth $10 - $11 a share like it was pre-transaction. It does really surprise me that it isn't up quite a bit though. The business being sold represents just over 40% of their sales, and they sold it for roughly the entire pre-transaction ECN market cap. The stock price now looks like a real bargain to me. I added to my position today, given the lack of a price runup.
