RE:RE:RE:Water RightsI hope that they win the appeal. I obviously don't know what the terms of the deal were or what the Nevada state law is regarding water rights, and consequently have no idea of their likelyhood of success.
The concern that I have is that the reasons stated by the state don't seem unreasonable. There is a drought and the amount of water available water is down. QTA has water rights that were granted for mining, and QTA isn't mining.
While I didn't buy QTA because it had water rights, I bought it because of it's copper reserves, the fact that they had water rights was reassuring. This does raise the question that, if they do find a partner to develop the mine, is there a possiblity that it won't be able to proceed because there is no water allocation available?
Who's more powerful in Nevada, the miners or ranchers that are using (wasting?) water by using it irrigate feed crops for their lifestock?
