RE:RE:prophetoffacts has found a new word - microglia! pof posted a quote from an NIH scientist, Dr. Daniel Reich who wrote, "The big unmet need in MS is not relapsing or acute MS for which there are already 20 or so treatments. This is really driven by T and B cells as in the reference."
I read about the the treatments for relapsing MS. They are problematic. They have side effects and many deal with relapses after they happen instead of preventing them. I gave my reasons for choosing relapsing MS and not progressive MS as Biaosis's clinical target. Dr. Reich would be the first to understand that the more quickly completed relapsing MS trial would inform physicians about the use of xB3-004 for progressive MS. After all, Dr. Reich is doing the same thing, using IL-1Ra.
I indicated in my article that I wasn't interested in going deep into the science of inflammation. Instead, I wrote about the way Bioasis could approach neuroinflammation and the opportunity that it presents to investors. However, I did provide dozens of links describing many aspects of the science. It's up to investors to go as deep into it as they can or want.
I can assure poof that those links contain thousands of references to the parts played by microglia, T-cells, B-cells, TNFα, IL-6, CD40 ligands, tea leaves and Coco Puffs. There's more of it than poof can eat.
Now, I know he likely didn't read my article, let alone chase down the links I provided. It would stick in his craw to have to read my stuff. He's intellectually lazy and he has an agenda. That's his business. In the days and weeks ahead he's going to learn how much else about Bioasis he's missed.
We live in a time of trolls, of people who get some sort of satisfaction out of being destructive. It's everywhere, and certainly here. It's all about power and damn the truth. Sometimes it's necessary to fight back, and for that, I'm your huckleberry.
