RE:RE:Ben la First, He was correct I worked covering Montreal for 25 years.  My dealing were all with professionals and as such all spoke English better than I spoke French as they were using the language on a daily basis.  When I was younger I was relatively Fluent in French but if you do not use it you lose much of what you learned.  

Funny part my business required alot of visits and interaction on various committees in Ottawa.  You could be from Quebec and your English literally sucked the big one but the feds considered you bilingual!  However, if you were from Ontario and your French skill were equivalent you were considered a flunky and not eligable to work in Ottawa.

Now before the haters come out my family is all from the Gaspe Pennisula and more french than many in Quebec who do all the complaining.  I understand their arguement that if they do not have language police many of their kids will end up like me and speak English and better Spanish than French but is that a bad thing.....
