RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:80/20 Patent Countdown Credibility Clock - PCCC - 13 Daysi know Yasch had some really good posts in last few months (year 2021) about patents so I've been going through all his posts to find it. Willl post when i find the one i'm looking for.
The thing is we own some really good patents in messaging and wireless tech that's crucial for Metaverse implementation. It will all depend on youngness of the portfolio, chen said the portfolio on average is young but that's relative. If the portfolio is about 10 year avg then that's actually really good, it gives a headstart to anyone that wants to develop metaverse type of platform.
This is just part(2,928 patents) of the 42k patents listed here: https://www.blackberry.com/us/en/legal/blackberry-virtual-patent-marking
2,000 companies are using BB patents for free today..: https://www.greyb.com/blackberry-patents-infringement-potential/
This was from Modernbuddha's post: - Aol sold 800 patents for $1.1billion (here) or $1.4 mil per patent
- kodak sold 1,100 patents for $500 million (here) or $500,000 per patent
- Motorola sold 7,500 patents for $4 bill (here) or $533,000 per patent
- nokia is around ~$700,000 per patent
It's hard to know how many patents are being sold. Chen said majority of portfolio so what is that number? more than 20k patents? This will be interesting if it goes through.
