In addition, Home Trust and its wholly owned subsidiary, Home Bank offer deposits through brokers and financial planners, and through a direct-to-consumer brand, Oaken Financial. Home capital topped profit expectations for the latest quarter and announced plans for a $300 million dollar share buyback plan. Yousry Bissada, president and CEO of Home Capital Group, says it’s hard to tell whether Canadians are rushing to get a mortgage before rates go up or if it’s just ongoing housing demand continuing.
