RE:RE:RBCThe problem with this casion style stock market fuelled by social media is that "profit" is not a determinant of a company's stock price. An example is Rivian who hasn't sold a single truck and may never be profitable from an accounting perspective that is valued by the "market" at more than 100 billion dollars as we speak. Sentiment and emotions is what drive this market and unfortunately for those who own them like me oil and gas related stocks are currently viewed as dead men walking even if they generate billions in profit righ now. That is why in this kind of market management must when possible distribute the majority of the free cash flow to shareholders to compensate for the relative lack on share price appreciation compared to other sectors with less profitable businesses. The company's that have committed to doing so will see buyers, those that don't will see sellers.
