Belo Sun is pleased to advise that the required Indigenous consultation meetings were successfully completed on October 29thwith approval from the only two impacted Indigenous Communities - the Jurunas Indigenous Community and the Arras Indigenous Community. The Consultations were necessary to complete the FUNAI protocol requirements for the ECI (Indigenous Study). The Indigenous consultation meetings were conducted following health and safety protocols establishedwith input from FUNAI and DSEI, the Company and its anthropologist consultants following and incorporating the current best practice regulations and recommendations from applicable medical authorities. The Indigenous consultation meetings were attended and supported by FUNAI, Jurunas Community, Araras Community, SEMAS, DESI, JGP, DPU, Indigenous consultants, and Belo Sun. FUNAI has not issued the final documentation advising that the ECI has been completed. FUNAI has advised Belo Sun that it expects to issue the final documentation in a timely manner, but it is also currently backlogged with work. Belo Sun notes that it is difficult to estimate when the documentation will be issued by FUNAI but management estimates, following discussion with FUNAI, that the documentation will likely be issued within 60 business days of having successfully completed the consultation meeting on October 29, 2021. However, COVID, workload and the time of year need to be considered and could cause delays. Once the ECI documentation is complete and issued by FUNAI, the report will then be filed with SEMAS and with the Federal Court of Brasilia (Tribunal Regional Federal da 1 Regio TRF-1) for its consideration. Belo Sun will make all reasonable efforts to facilitate a timely process, but it should be noted that the process and timeline within the Court system will depend on workload, court priorities and many other factors outside the influence of Belo Sun. SEMAS will wait for the consideration and ruling from the Federal Court of Brasilia (Tribunal Regional Federal da 1 Regio TRF-1) Show quoted text
