RE:RE:RE:Could Musk be the buyer of BB phone patents? watch thisGreat stuff, Yasch.
A few things I can add generally, as well as from the sad experience of being forced to switch out my passport silver edition for a garbage Samsung. I view the Samsung as temporary and honestly don't even know or care what the specific name of phone is. I think a Galaxy something or other. Point being, you're dead on in that the connected phone and auto will make blue tooth look like the huge phone we saw Gordon Gekko talking from in the beach scene of 1st 'WallStreet flick.' The car and phone will arguably be more important than our homes or living spaces. You can live without a home, but you absolutely cannot function without a phone.
And there's a ridiculous amount of room for improvement for anything non BB10 OS. As an example, just dealing without the BB10 hub is a major pain in the neck. So I can easily see Musk, with the assist of BB patents, creating the phone no one else has been able to. That would also lead to his being able to leap another notch up the totem pole over Bezos in the ego war. We all know one of Bezos' failures was his ill-fated shot at mobile. Conversely, maybe Bezos and Jazzy want to take another crack at best phone. If so, maybe Amazon is involved with the patents sale.
And then there's the question of why doesn't anyone seem to know the entity behind Onward Mobility and just how deep are the pockets. Who's the dough re mi behind OM?
I've come to the conclusion over the past few weeks, that the patents deal many of us have been at least somewhat obsessed over, is worth a lot more than I had previously thought. One of the biggest tells was Chen's making mention of what sounded like a multitude of lawyers working on the deal. Numerous lawyers billing on what's coming up on a full year would make no sense if it's not a significant deal. And Chen has alluded to its being a significant sum with a long tail. Haven't seen the exact quotation (might have been from Q1 '22 call) highlighted for a while.
We shall see. - dwolf
