RE:RE:RE:vancouver portWith the electrification of the world, food should not b a problem any place.
We grow super food (3 times normal nutrient food) all winter long in a 750 cubic foot lab. The broad spectrum led lights are capable of keeping lab above freezing with outside temps as low as minus 70 celcsus. 6 months of winter here has a mean average temp of about 0 celsius. So our light energy cost is about 100.00 cad per month. The lab produces about 500 pounds of tripple nutrient produce or 1500 pounds equiv.
It uses about 1 gallon water per pound produce. About 2 cents per pound for grow medium. Labour is about 1 minute per pound. This is not hydroponic.
I call it drydroponics:))
So that tiny lab feeds about 30 people the finest freshest produce all winter long for 100.00 electricity and 10 hrs labour per month.
