RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Omicron Maybe he's an anti-vaxxer, idk. I don't read anything anti-vax in his statement though, just the right to choose. Seems everybody is capable of a blinkered views of the world. Being anti coercion is not the same as being anti-vax.
If you want to protect yourself get vaccinated then your risk from getting the virus is minimized. The risk other individuals pose to you whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated is mitigated.
The virus is now endemic in the global population. Look at the UK experience. They are 90% vaccinated and there have been 40,000 new infections per day for 6 months. A new strain arrives and that shoots up to 80,000. We have to start to realize the virus is here to stay and learn to live with it. That means allowing societies to function and to stop demonizing a section of the population.
It's become a moral panic to demonize the unvaccinated. It feels to me like the early days of the hiv epidemic. Then the infected were demonized for their wicked behaviour that led to infection. Today people are demonized for their stupid decision making. In Europe come Spring it will effectively be illegal to be unvaccinated, you will not be able to operate as a free citizen if you are unvaccinated. This is authoritarianism and some people's desire to throw away freedom for the sake of safety is allowing this.
I think we can be safe and free. Pro vaccination, anti mandate.

Vaccinated people have much less risk of catching the virus in the first place. So transmition is much lower in a highly vaccinated population. I am so tired of crazy anti-vaxers. Also, wanting to be free to die is quite idiotic. Wanting more people to die in the society is so selfish and dumb.

Making life hard for those who choose not to get a vaccine is antithetical to the American way and erroneous on many levels. If you can still transmit the Virus to others even after vaccination the only argument to get it is if you are afraid of potential negative repercussions for yourself. Forcing it on individuals is ridiculous. I've had the virus myself with minimal issues. That was a risk I was willing to take and that decision should be left to the individual and nobody else. If you decide to get the Vaccine great but don't force your fears / decisions on others. It should be the individuals choice and nobody elses.
