Gold rising before Christmas,...Interesting.
Before leaving the office to head home for a few days my presumption is that the market sees forces relax.
Shorters cover,, longs sell highly leveraged positions, option traders set up means of protection. Most people just want to turn off for a few days, and they don't want to come back to find a mess.
I'm not smart enough to know how it all works. There's probably some people, low on the corporate ladder, who are left with the keys and told to not break anything.
And in this preparation for relaxation, it appears that the price of gold increases.
Theories as to why?
On the face of it, I would say that gold rising is what happens when the downward forces are lifted from their dominant position.
And, does the circus resume on January 2nd, or do the people forcing the price around decide to follow the new trend?
I sincerely know very little about what goes on inside the trading houses. But, I find the resulting effect to be interesting.
