RE:RE:RE:COVID

it does make sense when there are agenda(s) behind this.

So why do I mention this this?

All of them have the 10 day quarantine imposed on them and the local health department recommends that anyone in contact with them also does a 10 day quarantine.  If this continues to its logical conclusion, then everyone will be in quarantine and nobody will be available to work and the economy shuts down.

Will be interesting to see how all this plays out over the next couple of weeks and what the stock market reaction will be.

Yes, this is the ironic situation governments find them selves in now. I see in the US they are already making changes so that people can come back to work after 5 days with a negative test. They may still be sick or may or may not be shedding virus. No one is telling.....
I also see a shortage of proper testing everywhere so in my view, if you are double or triple vaxed and displaying symptoms of a mild cold, the only reason why to stay home is to be paid not to go to work. Otherwise this is a pointless exercise that gives the government a reason to spend money and control.
So the way I see it is a teeter totter that is about to go lopsided. When consumers cannot get what they need or want they will be very angry.
No point locking down as people, especially politicians, will break the rules.
Time to move forward and let the chips fall where they may......

Yep!! A number of things have been lost in all this. The severity of Omicron Anecdotally, all of my family members who have gotten Omnicrom despite being fully vaccinated have reported to me that what they are experiencing is nothing more than a more than an above average cold or flu and have no need to go to the hospital. Stats indicated that while we are facing record number of cases, hospitalizations haven't changed much. In fact the number of hospitalizations is less what is typically seen in "the old days" during flu season. Political Response Despite the evidence in Point 1, politicians and medical professions are imposing all kinds of restrictions on personal freedoms. These measures as you point out cost a lot of money which will have to be paid for by future generations and also have an immediate economic effect and psychological effect (I saw a report over the weekend where the number of teenage girls calling the suicide help lines is up 500%) Arbitrary Rules You point out correctly that in the US they have reduced the quarantine period to five days for certain groups. If the original number was a proven scientific fact then it shouldn't be changed. The fact that it was changed quickly and without a big medical clinical trial suggests that the original number was B-S and totally arbitrary. Have we lost common sense? Short answer is yes. One well established and longstanding human wisdom is that there is natural immunity. I recall as a child, coming home and my Mom said to me "Go over and play with your cousin Al, his Mom called me and told me that Al has chicken pox. Don't come home until you have chicken pox" Perhaps it might be wiser to let people get Omicron while taking stronger measure to protect those that might be vulnerable to more serious effects. Who is the best to judge this? Of course yourself and your doctor as opposed to someone making a blanket order who doesn't know you. I saw a clip by the is highly respected doctor in the US and he said that the immune response to vaccinations varies greatly from one individual to another. He said he and his wife did such a test to measure the immune response and his wife's level was 1000 times greater than his!! He said based on that she didn't a booster but he did!!! Soon individual freedoms will depend on whether one has booster or not irrespective of immune response or natural immunity. Other Treatments There are other treatments out there to prevent or lessen the more serious side effects of Omnicrom and yet they are either not available/approved or it is the sound of crickets in the media and in the health professional world. We all take some medication from time to time to lesson some symptoms. I cycle a lot and from time to time if I overdo it I get inflamed muscles. I put on some Volteran and maybe take some aleve and am on my bike the next day. Economic Impact In a word - huge both short and long term. We have seen actions by Government which advantage large companies at the expenses of small business (which are life blood of the economy) and what are long term effects of schools being shut down? Government deficits have ballooned. When you boil all this down the word "common" in common sense doesn't seem to exist anymore.
