Alberta Electricity Prices

Remarkably high 'pool prices' for electricity over the last couple of weeks - exceeding $600/MW [see: https://www.aeso.ca/market/market-and-system-reporting/ ].

Although not great for consumers (who are not on a fixed tariff), these rates are highly profitable for Transalta and other suppliers.
