At this point, I see manipulation to the upside more of a problem. The new investors are the ones who get burned for the most part. The higher the sp gets inflated, the riskier it is for new blood. Unless FDM starts making some partnerships with revenue, this should rightly not increase substantially. But people are always quick to call out manipulation to the downside.
