Apparently, they're being very nasty trying to enforce this Covid scam. It is real but not as bad as they're making it out to be. Here's a good video that proves the point from the UK: Why you can't trust the government.
These numbers seem to fluctuate wildly over time and are different from one country to another based on a number of considerations such as obeisty and preexisitng conditions.
One way I have looked at this is issues is the following...
In Canada we have about 80% of the eligible population fully vaccinated and 20% unvaccinated or have one dose. So even if the number of people in hospital due to COVID was equal between vaxed and unvaxed, a much higher proportion (percentage) of people who are unvaccinated end up in hospital simply because there are a lot fewer people in this category compared to those who are vaxed. It is simple math. If the number as per the video clip was 90% unvaxed then that represents a very high proportion of that population compared to the population of vaxed people.
To me, that is the key message and the argument for getting vaxed.
What it also means is that those who are unvaxed are costing a disproportionate burden onto the medical system and this cost is borne by all taxpayers vaxed or unvaxed. Should this lead to restrictions on those that are unvaxed? This is a tough one to answer. My gut personal reaction is no because the same argument could be made for smokers, alcoholics, obese people etc and the question then becomes - Where does all this end in terms of civil liberties, personal freedoms and individual privacy?
