Many thx to MTG for your work
Here's why it takes so long to get to Brazil... The biggest torches PYR has are 5M long (16 feet). Not easy to throw on a plane. Also, the VALE facility is literally the entire Port of Tubaro in Brazil. VAlE built the port and it serves the entire operation in Brazil, so it's very likely they prefer things just being shipped to the port (as it's right beside the pellet plants) rather than flown in. Here's one for a 3MW plasma torch: https://www.jema-power.com/usecase/3x3-mw-dc-power-supply-for-reverse-metallurgy-plasma-torches/ If they were to buy that one, which is Belgian made, and ship it to Brazil, shipping time is also just under a month: Source: But the most affordable (and often considered the best) large electronics are made in China and Korea. A matter of opinion obviously. If they bought from Korea, shipping time is two months: Source: But PYR has in the past purchased their power supply units from China. And that unit they bought was 1337 KG (almost 3000 lbs). Source: https://www.importgenius.com/importers/pyrogenesis-canada-inc The company they bought from, Green Power, has a head office in Beijing but a factory address in Zhongxiang City. Source: https://www.gprectifier.com/contact-us That factory is 1100 KM and 12+ hours in a truck to the port of Yiantin.
