RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:GIFT Nice rant Scienceguy.
i also won't be responding to this narative.
I would hope most Canadians would be able to disseminate the facts from the tabloid type of headlines screeming from Fox, CNN, Facebook, Rumble and others.
I can't disagree that some Canadian media commentaries and opinions are stanted to the left.
But I can't get over how the American media feels the need to shout in my ear. I see very little unbiased reporting from these outlets.
IMO,
all media commentaries and opinions are to be taken with a grain of salt.
I hope the ones who ignore or bash the Canadian Mainstream Media reporters will always be on the fringe,
Now, more than ever, we need reporters who uphold recognized standards, and fewer talking heads who try to sway my thinking.

Readers who enjoy conspiracy theories will enjoy Griffin's book but realistic readers that spend the extra time to fact check will realize those theories to not stand the test of time.
The Author says his saga is "incredible, which means unbelievable," and he's right, though he expects his audience to accept "the evidence of the truth of this story." Griffin's history may indicate how far to the edge some fringe thinkers really sit.
If you get all your information from super market tabloids ( which Fox news could be included as rupert murdock once said " people want entertaining news not necessarily factual news")
you get a unhealthy regime of false narative that can become your reality.
Instead of denigrating other peoples ideology or ideas of how society would be better for everyone would it not be better to try to understand what motivates people to think the way they do.
If people are trying to improve living conditions for everyone and not just a select demograhic ,then even if you don't agree with some of the ways of doing this you can at least admit their motives are not selfish.
One of the most important things i have learned in my educational journey is that even though someones opinion on something is not factual and is based on irrational ideas, that person will stubbornly defend those ideas because it is inherently human to want to believe in something. Religion is an example.
I am concerned that the divisiveness based on outright lies and ignorance that is happening south of the border is now being spread to other countries and ultimately the whole world.
It is ignorance (lack of knowledge) that leads to misunderstanding and hatred of anyone that does not believe what you believe or does not look like you or worships another deity. It allows self serving, egotistical narcissistic individuals to bring those people together in a common hatred for anything that makes them feel uncomfortable. One can easily think of historical figures that fit this category but fail to see the present day individuals that without safeguards would repeat the reprehensible parts of our history that some choose to forget.
Thats my rant and i won't be responding to this narative but rather felt the need to ventl.
