Choom Holdings Inc CHOOF

Choom Holdings Inc. is a Canada-based retail cannabis company, which is established as store networks in Canada. The Company’s Choom brand is inspired by Hawaii's Choom Gang, a group of buddies in Honolulu, who loved to smoke weed or, as the locals call it, Choom. The Choom Gang pursued a ‘live in the moment’ lifestyle and their energy has helped shape the Choom culture, which is rooted in the shared belief of cultivating time with friends. The Company is focused on delivering an elevated customer experience through its curated retail environments, offering a diversity of brands for Canadians across a national retail network. The Company operates through two segments: Retail Cannabis and Corporate Operations. The Company’s business strategy is to build retail cannabis chains, with locations across Canada in the provinces that allow for private retailers.

Today's top story: Marijuana vapes, pre-rolls popular among US consumers seeking potency, innovation. Photo: Jeff W, Unsplash
Behind marijuana flower, vape pens and pre-rolls are the next-biggest sellers in the cannabis market.

Both categories considerably outpaced the growth of the overall marijuana market. Pre-rolls even knocked off edibles for the third spot at the top.

Which demographic is leading the purchasing in these categories? Mostly younger consumers who want stronger, innovative products.

“The companies making these products are innovating in very interesting ways,” MJBizDaily reporter and editor Bart Schaneman said. “Some pre-roll companies are moving away from shake to fill joints and using high-quality flower instead. Also, infused pre-rolls are growing in popularity.”

“The vape connoisseur wants to puff on something more plant-like than just flavored distillate,” he added. “So solventless vapes are on the rise.”

Our story is packed with data and insights from experts in the two categories.

Numbers, as they say, don’t lie. But they don’t tell a full story, either.

The number of women working in the cannabis industry is on the decline. We see evidence of this in reports presented by MJBizDaily , the Women in Cannabis Study and Vangst in the past two years.

Women Empowered in Cannabis have identified four ways to support all women working in cannabis. These are simple steps that will weaken the systemic and structural problems women face in seeking the support in careers and in company cultures, to create and build wealth for ourselves.
The government of Alberta, Canada, officially handed over responsibility for online cannabis sales and delivery to the private sector on Tuesday, with a handful of companies prepared to start marijuana e-commerce and more on the way.

At the same time, Alberta cannabis retailers are being required to take steps meant to give their new, online operations an air of trustworthiness compared to underground mail-order marijuana websites.
