RE:Can anyone argue the side why WiLan is worth $250m+? It really all depends on the patent and how much money its earning now and in the future. Without more information on the patents it is hard to say what they are worth.
A patent not worht much now might find some use in a future technology. So you never know what you have until someone has a use for it.

The remaining patents that WiLan own are expired, near expiry or are implementation patents that you don't really need. This was WiLan's argument at CAFC.
The other patents are in a partnership model. WiLan only owns a 40% interest. They collect net of fees and the partner payment.
Blackberry sold its 38,000 patent horde that they owned outright For $16k/patent.
If I do the math on WiLans 4200 patents I get $67 Million. But most of the patents were assigned via a partnership arrangement. So shouldn't the price per patent be lower to reflect the lower economic interest?
Can anyone provide a compelling argument as to why WiLan's patents are worth $65k/ patent at the current pricing?
I can't find any credible reason.
