Soaring rough diamond prices have augured well for revenues for Canada's beleaguered diamond miners to start 2022.  Dermot Desmond's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD), down two cents to 80 cents on 46,000 shares, said last week that it averaged a hefty $132 (U.S.) per carat selling rough recovered from its Gahcho Kue mine in the Northwest Territories during its first quarter, a figure roughly in line with the feasibility target laid out nearly a decade ago.

Rough diamond prices are up 25 per cent since then . . . .
