RE:VP OF Exploration @ UEX
RE:VP OF Exploration @ UEXI don't have a strong opinion one way or the other yet.
I was excited by the Crux video outlining the drilling plan and felt they were able to explain the technical topics well and he seemed to know his stuff.
I've been underwhelmed by the rollout of information so far, it sounds like they got some good early hits at Christie, but compared to other companies that pump out CPS numbers as they come it has been silent just based on the news releases. That could just be a corporate positioning where they are conversative and don't want to trip over and securities discloure regulations, or maybe they are just cautious about building hype.
Anyway, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt through a full year of drilling results. Hey, if the leafs can have 5+ first round exits without anyone getting fired - then I think the VP should at least get a couple drilling programs.
I don't have a problem with his promotion or getting some options/RSU units. Compared to similiar size U companies, UEX has a very lean payroll and I don't really worry about their G&A. I also think it makes sense to promote from within rather then hire outside, UEX has a large portfolio with a lot of historical drilling from previous bulls - it would take a long time for someone else to get up to speed.
