RE:RE:RE:RE:The COVID-19 pandemic is 'most certainly not over@pandora, I had a similar experience early Jan probably got it on one of 4 flights I had to take in 24 hrs while traveling abroad). My wife just getting out of it herself. The vaccine doesn't prevent you from catching covid per se but prevents you from having harsher symptoms. This said, with the immunity I've built with 3 shots and getting it in Jan, I've had no issues this time around. At the end of the day, a mix of boosters and testing are probably needed until late '22, as immunity fades over time.

I personally don't think vaccination is going to solve the problem, if you look at some countries, higher vaccination rate did not stop the spread, but that's just my view.
But testing is helpful, here in Vancouver we are allowed to get free test kit which has 5 free quick tests in a box, I think we can get one box free every week or every month, and also people need to stay farther apart, if you are close to other people you will get covid, vaccinated or not.
Also DM has successful covid test kits and my feeling is if we see another non-covid pandemic in the future, I hope DM will also has corresponding test kits.
I wonder though, can DM use its AI to predict the apperance of next outbreak in any region of the world, that will be a killer AI.
Being much younger - only 82 - I avoided the covid for over two years. I took the two shots and then the booster. Two weeks ago I woke up feeling like I had been run over by a truck. Did a covid test and tested negative. Did another test the second day and tested positive. The run over by a truck feeling lasted 4 days. After that it was basically a run down, tired feeling for another 4 days - runny nose, hacky cough.
No idea where I might have picked it up. I've been doing the same routine for over two years and then out of nowhere it hit.
Ran rapid tests for 6 days - kept showing positive so haven't done another for about 5 days. Still have the runny nose but other than that I feel fine. Supposedly natural immunity kicks in and no doubt is better than vaccines -- which certainly do not fend off the virus. Nobody tests for immunity so we will never know. They will just tell us - get another booster, Pfizer needs the funds.
