Marathon Gold Corp T.MOZ

Marathon Gold Corporation is a Canada-based gold exploration and development company. The Company’s primary business focus is the exploration and development of its flagship asset, the wholly owned Valentine Gold Project, located in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The project comprises a series of five mineralized deposits along a 32- kilometer system. Its prospects are located along the Valentine Lake Shear Zone and include Frank Zone, Rainbow Zone, Triangle Zone, Victoria Bridge, Narrows, Victory Southwest, Victory Northeast, and the Berry Zone. In addition to the Valentine Gold Project in the Central Region of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Company holds 100% interests in the Bonanza Mine, a former mine located in Baker County in northeastern Oregon, the Gold Reef property, an exploration property consisting of approximately 12 hectares of claims located near Stewart, British Columbia; and a 2% net smelter returns royalty on precious metal sales by the Golden Chest mine in Idaho.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Updated Feasibility Study and Gold Price Assumptions
According to the most recent slide presentations on their websites:

MOZ Slide Presentation - July 2022

SBB Slide Presentation - June 2022

Estimated Cost of Initial Mine Build:
MOZ     $305M CDN
SBB      $610M CDN

Estimated All-In Sustaining Costs (AISC):
MOZ   $833/oz USD
SBB    $775/oz USD

My guess is both projects will end up over-budget upon completion if inflation continues to be an issue.

SBB's location is an obvious disadvantage - likely one of the main factors as to why its initial cost estimate is twice as much as MOZ as they will have to spend much more on infrastructure and transportation of equipment and materials. However, according to page 4 of SBB's presentation, SBB's M&I+I Resource Estimate and grade is far superior to MOZ's (MOZ is just above and to the left of the intersection of the vertical and horizontal broken lines).

Will be interesting to see how these two projects progress and how their respective share prices perform during the builds.
