RE:RE:RE:RE:TLV Thoughts on Suncor vs. Gamehost Capital AllocationMTY is pretty impressive.
Looks like debt (after absorbing BBQ) still conservative.
Seems like a brutal business, I have never been interestred in food service. Kudo's to your insight and due diligence.
I have always tried to invest as far upstream as possible in any business. In my twisted view of the world, upstream ends at energy and water. Since water is damned hard to invest in ( i once bought BWEL just for water rights appreciation), I have invested largely in energy (Oil, Gas, etc.)
When I was a little kid (11 or 12ish), I was impressed by a neighborhood kid that would go around on the weekends and wash peoples cars for 5 dollars. I tried to replicate the business model with limited sucess. My city water had high mineral levels and I could not figure out how to dry peoples cars fast enough to avoid water spots :-) I made some money, but figured there was a better way to get rich.
Tried a newspaper route next. Let me assure you, grown adults will frequently fail to pay $3.50 monthly to a 12 year old kid standing at the front door trying to collect the bill. Still pisses me off :-)
Anyways, congrats on MTY's latest acq.
